2023 election of officers:
This season we are electing the President, Vice President and 3 Directors at Large.
The polls are open now and close January 31, 2023. Ballots must be received by January 31st, 2023.
Nomination and election of future officers:
There are 2 groups of elected officers - each with a term of 2 years.
1) The election of the MWR President, Vice President and 3 Directors at Large. Nominations for this group are accepted in even numbered years through September, with balloting starting in the winter of that year with the publication of the Winter Waybill and ending January 31st of the following year.
2) The election of 4 Directors at Large. Nominations for this group are accepted in odd years through September, with balloting starting in the winter of that year with the publication of the Winter Waybill and ending January 31st of the following year.
Nominations: The nominating Petition Deadline Is October 6 this year.
There are two ways that your name can be placed on the ballot. The first is by recommendation of the Nominating Committee and approval of the Board of Directors. To be considered by the Nominating Committee, please contact: Steve Studley of the Central Indiana Division at: firstname.lastname@example.org ; ph: (812) 876-9726 or Paul Mangan of the South Central Wisconsin Division at: email@example.com ; ph: (608) 835-9577. or Paul Mangan. You must submit a biography/candidate’s statement of 200 words or less and a 2x2, passport-style photo to the Committee as soon as possible, but no later than October 6 this year.
The preferred method of delivery is electronic mail. (While e-mail is not required to serve on the Board, it is highly desirable since the Board conducts pre and post meeting activity by e-mail.) If you do not have e-mail, you may mail your bio/photo to Connie Coy, the Region Secretary. She will convert it to an electronic format and send it to the Committee. The second method is by petition signed by at least ten (10) current NMRA members who live in the Midwest Region. The petition form is available on the Region website at:
or it may be requested from Steve Studley or Paul Mangan. Your petition must be accompanied by a biography/candidate’s statement of 200 words or less and a 2x2, passport-style photo. It must be received by Steve or Paul no later than the October deadline. They will convert it to an electronic format and forward it to the Committee.
The Committee will submit its recommendations and the names of all resident members nominated by petition to the Board of Directors for review and approval during its next meeting. Each candidate’s biography/statement & photo and a ballot will be included in the Winter issue of the Waybill. The results of the election will be announced during the next Annual Meeting of Members.
