MWR Election Information

2026 election of officers:
Note that the MWR is running behind in finding candidates. Note the modified election process dates.

This term we are electing 4 Directors at Large.
The polls will open on or about January 31, 2026 and close March 31, 2026.
Ballots must be received by March 31st, 2026.

2027 election of officers:
This term we are electing 1 President, 1 Vice President and 3 Directors at Large.
The polls will open December 1, 2026 and close January 31, 2027.
Ballots must be received by January 31st, 2026.

Nomination and election of future officers:
There are 2 groups of elected officers - each with a term of 2 years.
1) The election of the MWR President, Vice President and 3 Directors at Large. Nominations for this group are accepted in even numbered years through September, with balloting starting in the winter of that year with the publication of the Winter Waybill and ending January 31st of the following year.
2) The election of 4 Directors at Large. Nominations for this group are accepted in odd years through September, with balloting starting in the winter of that year with the publication of the Winter Waybill and ending January 31st of the following year.

Nominations: The nominating Petition Deadline Is October 6 this year.
There are two ways that your name can be placed on the ballot. The first is by recommendation of the Nominating Committee and approval of the Board of Directors. To be considered by the Nominating Committee, please contact: Precilla Roderick of the Central Indiana Division by clicking on the following link https://www.mwr-nmra.org/mwr2016/mwr.contact.html. You must submit a biography/candidate’s statement of 200 words or less and a 3.5 x 3.5 inch, passport-style photo in jpg, png or tif format to the Committee as soon as possible, but no later than October 6 prior to the election.

The preferred method of delivery is electronic mail. (While e-mail is not required to serve on the Board, it is highly desirable since the Board conducts pre and post meeting activity by e-mail.) If you do not have e-mail, you may mail your bio/photo to Jan Burnside, the Region Secretary. She will convert it to an electronic format and send it to the Committee. The second method is by petition signed by at least ten (10) current NMRA members who live in the Midwest Region. The petition form is available on the Region website at:

or it may be requested from Precilla Roderick. Your petition must be accompanied by a biography/candidate’s statement of 200 words or less and a 3.5 x 3.5 inch, passport-style photo in jpg, png or tif format. It must be received by Precilla no later than the October deadline. She will convert it to an electronic format and forward it to the Committee.

The Committee will submit its recommendations and the names of all resident members nominated by petition to the Board of Directors for review and approval during its next meeting. Each candidate’s biography/statement & photo and a ballot will be included in the Winter issue of the Waybill. The results of the election will be announced during the next Annual Meeting of Members.
